Interface Overview
This guide explains all the elements of the Rando interface and what they do.
Main Interface Elements
Top Bar
Search Box (Pro)
- Search photos by file name or tag
- Press
Cmd+F(Mac) orCtrl+F(Windows) to focus
Folder Selection Button
- Opens folder picker to add/remove folders
- Shows number of selected folders
Main Photo Display Area
Photo Viewer
- Displays the current random photo
- Click and drag to pan large photos
- Scroll to zoom in/out
- Double-click to fit to window
Photo Information Overlay
- Appears when hovering over the photo
- Shows filename, path, dimensions, file size
- Auto-hides when not hovering
Bottom Control Bar
Random Button
- Shows a new random photo
- Keyboard:
Space - Primary action in Rando
Previous Button
- Goes back in navigation history
- Keyboard:
←(Left Arrow) - Disabled when at the start of history
Next Button
- Goes forward in navigation history
- Keyboard:
→(Right Arrow) - Disabled when at the end of history
Slideshow Button (Pro)
- Starts immersive slideshow mode
- Keyboard:
S - Free users get limited slideshow sessions
Full Screen Button
- Toggles full-screen mode
- Keyboard:
F - Exit with

Tag Panel
- Shows all your custom tags
- Click a tag to filter photos
- Right-click for tag management options
- Drag to reorder tags
Tag Quick Access
- Quickly apply tags to current photo

Tips for Interface Usage
Distraction-Free Viewing
Press F for full screen and let the interface auto-hide for a distraction-free experience.
Quick Tagging
Use number keys (1-9) to quickly tag photos without touching the mouse.
Navigation History
Think of Previous/Next like a web browser - Random adds to history, arrows navigate it.
